You need all your skills down before you start electric
or you won’t learn proper technique
A cheap can be 250 or less, and used I’ve seen at 80$
If you want Metal, go with Ibanez
If you want Rock Go Gibson

If you want something cheap, go for one of those starter packs where you get the guitar and a little amplifier, cables and a tuner. It won´t be the best quality in the world, and you probably won´t get it sounding like Rage against the machine on that amp, but its a good place to start, then when you are better you can get something a bit more expensive.
